Does running in winter have any benefits?
Contrary to what you might expect, winter weather beats summer weather, instead of slowing down to increase heat resistance, winter makes everything easier:
it helps you to sweat less and therefore stay more hydrated;
you feel stronger and more energetic;
your heart will beat slower and therefore the probability of "gaining" a few km is higher;
Running in winter involves mental toughness for sure. But you will emerge stronger and ready to deal with the tough spots in a spring run. In addition, and as seen in the previous points, it brings physical benefits!
Take advantage of winter to build your running base and be stronger and stronger in spring/summer.
